Alphabet Reports Earnings Today: Here’s What To Expect

Tech giant Alphabet is due to report its earnings today. Here is what investors can expect.

After market’s close today, Alphabet Inc. is going to unravel its earnings.

GOOGL (Google Class A Shares) hit a record high of $1587.05 a share in 2020. It is currently trading at a value close to $1517 per share.

It is expected that the stock will make big moves after reporting earnings and it can easily cover the gap if the numbers are strong.

However, if their Q2 earnings disappoint, the stock will gap down.

Alphabet: Tech Unveiled

Street Expectations For Alphabet Q2 Earnings

It is reported that Alphabet will report a value of $8.43 a share on a value of $30.38 billion in revenue.

Few important concerns regarding Alphabet’s performance include the following:

  1. The market was affected by the corona pandemic in the last couple of months. Especially during March to April, the corona pandemic hit the markets adversely and major stocks suffered.
  2. Alphabet provides online advertising services in the U.S., Europe, Asia Pacific, Canada and Latin America. Ads have been a little slow these past few months because of stringent online policing and control. Therefore, companies such as Alphabet suffered.
  3. Google has a large fleet of products to offer. However, online business activity has suffered greatly in the past few months which has led to a slowdown in business and Alphabet holds no exceptional value.

The focus this time by Alphabet Inc. is on Cloud and Streaming services.

Alphabet’s YouTube and Cloud Services

Since most people worked from home in the last six to seven months, GOOGL’s YouTube and Cloud services provided access to the outside world. It was essentially what everyone needed for work and play (two of Google’s services YouTube and Cloud).

While overall usage dropped during the lockdown of Google products, classroom, YouTube, Android apps showed a lower activity. Overall though, Google was ‘in the works’ because of its YouTube and Cloud app.

Further news by Benzinga revealed that Google’s cloud platform outpaced other cloud based services.

In Q1, GOOGL’s cloud division posted a revenue of $2.78 billion, higher than 52% YOY.

Furthermore, Alphabet Google Cloud Platform infrastructure was higher than all units in the company’s cloud segment.

Essentially, Google Classroom (the cloud based service we are talking about) double its usage during early March. Last quarter, they ended with 100 million students/teachers.

While Covid concerns will be in full fruit in fall semester, it will be nice to see what Q2 figures reveal.

Furthermore, combined with virtual learning, there was a demand for laptops too.

To Conclude

Chromebook sales were 400% higher (YOY in March). In the case of virtual meetings, Google Meet wasn’t the top name in the Zoom Video Communications by coolness but it did see an increase of up to 100 million users in Q1. This is an indication of its performance in Q2. (Something you can eye on in Q2 for Google’s performance and results).

Google, just like Facebook today, has a lot of competition. The company is trading at $1,523.51 at the stock exchange.

Starting at $1,454.25, down at $1,054.13 and rising to $1,523.51 today, Alphabet Inc Class A (NASDAQ:GOOGL) will, according to tech unveiled, remain above sub and par value but beat analyst expectation by 10-15% per share.

However, most people are looking forward to the time when the watch comes with complete support off all features and as a ‘complete package’ that is ready to be used.

Launched in South Korea, some are also touting the watch to be one of the best smartwatches to buy in 2020.

While we look forward to its complete release, the new watch by Samsung is easy on the eye, on and in apprehension and a pretty smooth runner.

Samsung’s New Blood Pressure Tracking Smartwatch: What Is The Watch Bringing Forth?

While reports suggest that the watch will be launched in the 3rd quarter of the year, it got approved by the Ministry of Food And Drug in South Korea. Furthermore, the approval came in April, which permitted the watch’s release earlier this year.

Similar in mechanism as the Health Monitor App in Apple’s smartphones, the watch may please those customers who cannot afford Apple products or health enthusiasts, who are always running around and want to ensure their system is alright for moving their muscles further for work purposes.

Samsung’s new watch could bear a logo of “have it or leave it” and will bring a lot to table. The best part is that it has a very simple yet professional design which makes it look like a proper watch. No extras. Just business.

Moreover, Samsung’s new blood pressure watch is a good alternative to the usual methods of checking blood pressure. However, Furthermore with ECG support, the watch will have other health alternates to boost as well.

To Conclude:

Whereas we will wait for the confirmation of Samsung’s watch full release, some things about the watch have been confirmed. First, it is launching in South Korea, second, it is going to run on Android, third, it is going to be one of Samsung’s most technical and apprehensive products available and fourth, it is going to have an ideal design.

Furthermore, it is going to be one of the best and top 2020 tech products to look out for.

Are HTC Phones Getting 5G Access?

According to The Verge, two brand new HTC phones are making their way to Taiwan. These include Desire 20 Pro and HTC U20 5G. Sources reveal that both these phones will be getting access to 5G, which is big news in itself.

Though both these HTC phones are mid-ranged phones, both come in and with access to 5G technology.

HTC U20 Pro: Tech Unveiled

While the HTC U20 5G has a 6.8 inch screen and a Full HD LCD display, it is packed with other surprises too. These include a 32MP selfie camera, a finger print sensor, a 48 mp sensor, 8mp ultrawide camera, 2mp depth camera and then macro cameras too.

Furthermore, the phone comes with the infamous Qualcomm mid-range packed with Snapdragon 765G processor. It has a big 5,000 mAh battery with 8GB RAM and 256 GB of storage. Its storage, however, can be expanded with microSD.

This phone supports 5G. Sources have confirmed that the new phone will be available in Taiwan for Pre-order from July 1. It will cost about NT$18,900, which is around $640.

The HTC Desire 20 Pro

On the other hand, the other phone, the HTC Desire 20 Pro, is perhaps lower in its capacity and comes without 5G support. It has a 6.5 inch display, though less powerful specs in comparison to the above-mentioned phone, it has a powerful Snapdragon 665 processor, 128 GB storage and 6GB RAM.

Furthermore, the Desire 20 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery. This phone will be available from June 18th, and it will cost around $300 (NT$8,990).

HTC Desire 20 Pro: Tech Unveiled

People will enjoy using 5G technology on their phones because it is a step ahead than 4G technology. Furthermore, 5G will ensure quick and smooth operations online, which most business employers and workers will be looking for.

HTC has a lot to proof with these phones. Both these phones have too much to boast. They are also affordable. However, the one that comes with 5G support, in our opinion, will be the one in high demand.

We can gladly say that the new Samsung Ultra is the  first New Generation phone.

New Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra In Detail

If you ask me, the new Samsung Ultra comes with some negatives and some positives. If you ask me though, the iPhone 11 Pro would fare better than the Galaxy S20 but opportunity wise, Galaxy S20 is the one to boast. The price of the Samsung Ultra is $1,399.99.

Furthermore, the good part about the phone is that it has a huge, mega, 120Hz screen and an outclass battery life. The phone also has good quality zoom feature that allows you take photos up to 10x . It also has a decent self camera.

Moreover, the phone has a camera that softens the pictures. The phone IS quite expensive but a worth try, especially for those who are on Android and not those who have used iPhone before. Lastly, the phone’s features’ include a 100X zoom and an 108-megapixel is mostly a hoax.

Overall, the Samsung S20 Ultra is a decent answer. It is fast, powerful and it boasts a good design. Furthermore, it has a very good battery life. We will probably give it a 9/10.

The new Galaxy S20 by Samsung is an art of a class. It is prompt, spontaneous, reliable and movable. It resembles close to the iPhone 11 Pro Max but it is different in its own league.

The strongest feature of the Samsung Galaxy Ultra is its camera. The camera is bold, spontaneous and powerful. Ideal for gaming lovers and those who love entertainment, this phone is a master-class.

Google Decides To Turn Off “Google Nearby Notifications”

New reports reveal Google has decided to discontinue Google Nearby notifications. Tech giant Google revealed that it will take this action later this year.

Sources reveal that Android users were getting too much scam because of the feature. Google nearby notifications, which was launched in 2015, was used by many Android users.

It became a target for digital marketers which lead to problems.

With GoogleNearby, Android users get pinged on any venture close to a location with say, beacons.

The feature was also not providing relevant content because these beacons would then send out spams and unnecessary notifications to phones.

Overall, users reported a bad experience with it.

Google’s Side

The whole point of launching Google Nearby is to bring something that is useful for the users.

It said it wanted it to be a helpful assist that would tell users about free Wi-Fi’s, closely museum information or when you can expect the bus to arrive… Or just, well, any other information users could make use of.

Reports have also revealed that MANY Android users were disabling the Nearby. They expressed their frustrations on forums and social media. But in all of this, the marketers were only cashing. They then started to send ads according to the location of the users without even having the need of the actual app. Android users definitely couldn’t take it.

Keeping all of this in mind, tech giant Google announced that it has decided to discontinue the app.

In the company’s own words:

“We have a very high bar for the quality of content that we deliver to users, especially content that is delivered through notifications”.

So, when will Google remove the feature?

Very soon!

The Google Nearby notifications feature will stop disturbing you from December 6, 2018 onwards.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: A Small Exact

Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a phone that is attracting a lot of attention because of two factors:

  • Its features
  • Its prices

Available from today, this phone is beating many others in most capacities (in the same price range).

Two things that stand out about Huawei’s new phone are its specs and camera.

What About Huawei Mate 20 Pro

One thing that stands out about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is that it has 3 cameras at the back.

Each of these cameras has a different focal length to boast. The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor just as the Vivo Nex.

Another feature of the new Mate 20 Pro is that it has a 3D face unlock feature that offers secure authentication. This feature is also found in the Oppo Find X and iPhone X.

What Else?

Furthermore, the phone also has a high-resolution display of 6.4 inches and an OLED screen. This bears similarity to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 as well.

It seems like Huawei is trying to beat the Note 9 with its new phone. Huawei has also stressed that it has a better Android software on board than Samsung, offering 22% higher stability in gaming and more.

The company claims that it is also more power efficient (14% higher) than Note 9.

Wireless Charging And More

This is not it as the Mate 20 Pro also comes with fast wireless charging just like Samsung.

However, it also features reverse wireless charging compatible with Qi devices.

Confused what reverse charging is?

Well, with your Mate 20 Pro, you can charge (wirelessly) Note 9 or iPhone X/XS.

It is being said that the phone has a Hyper Optical Pattern that minimizes fingerprints. Also, it has a soft texture that allows easy grip.

The phone has a 4200 mAh battery. Height wise, it is the same as the Pixel 2 Xl.

You can still use the phone with one hand. It also has an IP68 rating for water/dust resistance. Therefore, the phone comes with an additional layer of protection.

Face ID/Fingerprint Sensor, Camera And Details

Moreover, the Mate 20 Pro has Facial ID recognition, which is similar to the iPhone. Apart from that, it has also incorporated a fingerprint sensor.

The Mate 20 Pro comes with multiple cameras. It has gotten rid of the monochrome sensor and is using better sensors instead.

The company is now incorporating three different focal lengths and a 20 mp camera for better shots.

There is also a 40 MP camera for conventional wide angle plus an 8-megapixel camera for telephoto.
